Ok folks, sorry there was not a blog yesterday. Amazngly after giving the students a hard time for forgetting things at the rest stop and on the bus I left my CAMERA on the bus (Megan was not surprised!). Thankfully the bus driver found it and she will bring it back for the end of the week. But I did not have any pictures to blog Alex has let me borrow his carmera for the week…
Tuesday’s Sealed Order: Matthew 12:22-37
Activity: Ok, this activity will require some action, so stand up. Set your bible and paper down (but not before you finish reading this). Now start doing 10 jumping jacks… ok I am kidding about the jumping, but do stand up and look around!
So as you looked a little silly, how many people joined you in the crazy effort? Do you ever wonder how many people actually read these?… (I do!)
Article: I always enjoy reading comments on the blogsite, but the last few days I started getting bizarre comments (“No, we shouldn’t trust you…”) from people I did not know. At first I decided my writing must have become so legendary that random people were searching me out… back to reality I decided to check out where the hits came from. And it led back to a wordpress.com page. It seems my blog has been tagged “moisture”, which I suppose comes from the plunge title and the plunger logo-which is a disturbing picture. And not only has the blog been given a category, it was declared the featured blog! This was impressive until I realized the other blogs were on skin moisturizers and mold…
Sometimes we are mislabeled. In my freshman year I caught a fly ball on the first day of PE and from then on-no matter the sport-I was a team captain (the other captain was the quarterback of the freshman football team… Honestly, he could kill me, not to mention beat me at any sport). Of course the PE coach’s label did not change me, I did not magically become a sports star. In the same way my blog might be a form of moisture, but it doesn’t have anything to do with creams or mildew-no matter what wordpress.com says!
Still, being labeled athletic made me try that much harder. I wanted to fulfill the label given me. I wanted to be a sports star…
There is only one label which matters and that is the label YOU give Jesus. Do accept that He is the Spirit of God, who was sent by God-or do you declare His spirit to be the devil? (Or maybe simply human?) This is the label we strive to prove-to prove to the world who is God!
¤ What labels have you been given by your friends?… Is this who you really are?… Do you try to become what your friends expect? Why?
¤ In the scripture passage what is Jesus labeled?… Why is this declared an unforgiveable sin? (Why is that label so important?)…
¤ Did you stand up for the activity?… If you stood up, what label did that give you?… Did it make you more spiritual, a better follower of God to stand up?…
You may have some questions about this passage, so I have put together some of my thoughts. Click here if you would like to know more… finding your way through matthew-12:22-37
