Lost in Germany ~ Day Five and Six

We have finally arrived in Liepzig for the Baptist World Youth Conference! The opening night of the conference was awesome. Since we are in Germany they tackled the difficult topics of both Wars and the Holocaust. A mime lead the service – which was strange, but he did an awesome job. He acted many of the history scenes and everything came back to the image of the pearl. When found it is worth selling everything to gain. When acting out the Nazi rise the troops began marching and he lost the pearl. It rolled back and forth across the floor, kicked away by the soldiers. “Neither cast your pearls before swine,” read the narrator (Matthew 7:6)…

The choir opened the evening fringe and did a great job. Following our group the students from Hungry, led by Glen Adkins. They were amazing, playing the strengths of the students with dancing and guitar! (Random: Sorry I missed Will’s solo!)

  1. Enjoyed the pictures. Looks like an amazing site where the conference is being held. Have our students given the Hungary students thier shirts yet? How did that all go, if so? Pass our love to Will and Savannah–they look great from here!!! Praying all continues to go well.

  2. Ok – I’m curious – what’s happening in the picture with Michael T. in the middle and everyone is surrounding him? Looks like you’ve had a loads of fun. I know you’re all tired – but hang in there. We’re praying that God will provide the energy you need to be His Light over there! Love to K & P.

  3. Beth–this is for you–looks like they are all “huddling up” like football players do before a play. You know, everybody puts their hand in the middle and gives a big yell ” Go. go. get ’em. get ’em!!” only for our group it looks like they couldn’t all reach the middle.

  4. Sean, have we told you how awesome you are? Thank you so much for this blog and the pics! Give Cal our love. We are so proud of him and all of you. Isn’t God good to give you an opportunity like this? We miss y’all, but have a GREAT time! 🙂 Pam

  5. Looks like everyone is having a great time. Could we put in a request for a group picture if there is time maybe at the Munich airport. We’ll be waiting for ya back at FBC! Love to all from Harold, Bonnie, and Heidi
