Act

Imagine with me a theater. All the actors on stage. There is some urgent development as they speak back and forth to one another. But then silence. They all turn, waiting for one actor… but he says nothing. The director, breaks in, “You missed your line!”

“No, I did not, I just thought my line in my head…”

Of course this is a ridiculous way to act. 😉 But a good illustration for the church. Our worship is not just an event inside our mind or our heart. Our worship creates change. Our worship becomes action. Our worship drives our daily life!

“As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead.” — James 2:26

This Sunday we make our worship action! We begin in the sanctuary at nine, then after worship in word, we worship in action through multiple different service projects (9:30-11:30). In this way we do act out the Love of God. That all may see and rejoice!

Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. — Matthew 5:15-16
