As a point of information, the fate of both boats is in the hands of the Joker. If neither boat has blown the other up he has promised to blown them both up at midnight.

I guess that if they push the button, it would be better not to push the button. If they don’t, it would be better to push it. And if the Joker won’t do anything at the end (which ends up being the case) it would be better not to push it.
Man, Christopher Nolan needs that Best Director Oscar.
