Expand

Ezekiel is about to turn seven and for his gift we bought him a bean bag. No longer full of beans, this one is full of memory foam. It arrived in a 2×2 square box. Inside was the cover and a plastic wrapped bag of foam. Out of the package the foam started to expand. And will continue for days to become a 5ft bag.

Soon enough E was jumping off the couch onto a bean bag big enough for all our kids to pile on. The girls wondered how the thin plastic bag could hold all that foam? Exponentially bigger, there was no way it could go back into the box!

“Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” (Rm 10:13)

If your faith doesn’t have enough space for everyone who calls on the name of Jesus… no matter their worship style, denomination, theology, politics, even lists of sins… if you start to think, “they are not a real Christian”, then your faith is in a human made box. Let it out. Let it expand. Accept the Love of God that is without end!

“Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, his love endures forever.” (Psalm 107:1)

This Sunday we continue our study on Psalms 107 and giving thanks. We will look at the third section, v17-22, when God’s Word raises us out of the grave! I hope you will consider joining us at 10:30 in person or streaming live.
